    A friend recommended this writer to me so I figured I would give him a try. This is the first book I’ve read by Mr. Barrett, but it won’t be the last! I really enjoyed his overall perspective on exercise. The first chapter focused on why the best type of ab workout is one that works your CORE – which includes many other major muscle groups. I liked that because I was really sick of doing sit-ups and crunches to isolate the abs. Mr. Barrett provided so many other options that really DO help strengthen your overall core. And, he includes pictures of the exercises so you can make sure you are doing them correctly.

    Also, the writer doesn’t assume that every person reading this book is a hard-core athlete – he provides variations of the exercises. He explains that you can benefit from doing just a few of the many exercises each day. In other words, he is realistic that not every person who chooses this book reads it just because they want 6-pack abs. I wanted to learn some fun variations to the typical ab exercises – I did! I also got the benefit of learning exercises that strengthen my core AND help relieve my back pain!

    This book was a quick and educational read! I liked the writing style of this author – he explained things well and made the information fun and interesting. I’ve already downloaded my next book from the author – Hand and Forearm Exercises – recommended by a friend because of all the work I do on the computer!     This is a great exercise book for Ab exercises. It has a lot of great information on the proper way to exercise, stretch and helpful hints on diet and nutrition to aid in strengthening my core and getting a flat stomach. It is very well written and lots of pictures to show each exercise to make sure you are doing the moves correctly. It has suggestions on how to incorporate the moves into my workout. Most of all, I am happy to finally learn different and new techniques for my ab workout that are NOT crunches or sit ups. The new techniques the author identifies are awesome and fun! I look forward to reading other books by this author.
